The Pattern Organiser Download Page

Click here to download the Pattern Organiser installer.

This is a very big download, I'm afraid (7.2Mb).

When prompted for somewhere to save the file, choose a temporary location. It's probably best to create a new, empty directory for this purpose. Click here if you require guidance on how to do this.

Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for problems with (a) the Internet, (b) your ISP, and (c) your computer. We make every effort to ensure that the web site works correctly at all times, so if you experience a problem with the download, it is almost certainly due to one of the above. The first step is to wait a while and try again. Please do not contact us regarding problems with downloading unless you are absolutely certain the problem is at the web site.

Locate PatOrg10.exe wherever you saved it, and double-click to run it. This will start the installation

If you are confident with installing Windows software, the subsequent screens should be self-explanatory. Click here if you require a step-by-step walkthrough of these screens.

The Sewing Pattern Organiser should now be installed on your computer. You will find a submenu on your Start Menu (under Programs), entitled 'Pattern Organiser'. In there is an icon also entitled 'Pattern Organiser'. Click this icon to run the program.
Help is available from the icon entitled 'Help' in the same submenu. Try this now.
If you don't see the Help files, you probably don't have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed on your system. This is available free from the Adobe web site.

The program requires Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.5 Service Pack 3 to be installed on your computer.
If not, the program will run as far as the initial screen, but when you try to create a new Catalog you will see a run-time error and the program will close down.
(This is more likely to happen on older systems such as Windows 95 or 98.)
It may be downloaded from the Microsoft web site. Click here for more details.

And that's it. You now have the Sewing Pattern Organiser, Version 1.0, installed on your system.
You can now delete the temporary directory you created earlier.
The first thing I'd recommend you to do is to read the Help file. Print it if you prefer to read paper - it is about 15 pages.
The section entitled 'Running the Program' tells you how to get the program running for the very first time.
You can now create a Pattern Catalog and catalog some patterns!
The best way to learn to use the program is by playing with it.
Have fun!
