Click here to download the SEW File Utilities installer.
This is a pretty big download, I'm afraid (5.5Mb).
When prompted for somewhere to save the file, choose a temporary location. It's probably best to create a new, empty directory for this purpose. Click here if you require guidance on how to do this.
Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for problems with (a) the Internet, (b) your ISP, and (c) your computer. We make every effort to ensure that the web site works correctly at all times, so if you experience a problem with the download, it is almost certainly due to one of the above. The first step is to wait a while and try again. Please do not contact us regarding problems with downloading unless you are absolutely certain the problem is at the web site.
If you have Version 1, you should delete it. There's no uninstall routine,
just delete it. Click here if you require
guidance on how to do this.
If you have Version 2, you should uninstall it via the Add/Remove programs facility
in the Control Panel. Click here if you require
guidance on how to do this.
Locate SFU30Ful.exe wherever you saved it, and double-click to run it. This will start the installation
If you are confident with installing Windows software, the subsequent screens should be self-explanatory. Click here if you require a step-by-step walkthrough of these screens.
The Sew File Utilities should now be installed on your computer. You will find
a submenu on your Start Menu (under Programs), entitled 'Sew File Utilities'.
In there is an icon also entitled 'Sew File Utilities'. Click this icon to run
the program.
Help is available from the icon entitled 'Help' in the same submenu. Try this
now.
If you don't see the Help files, you probably don't have the Adobe Acrobat reader
installed on your system. This is available free from the Adobe
web site.
And that's it. You now have the Sew File Utilities, Version 3.0, installed
on your system.
You can now delete the temporary directory you created earlier.
The first thing I'd recommend you to do is to read the Help file. Print it if
you prefer to read paper, although be warned, it runs to about 45 pages.
The section entitled 'Running the Program' tells you how to get the program
running for the very first time.
You can now open up some SEW or JEF files and play with them. If you make a
mess of one, don't save it! (I recommend always using Save As anyway.)
The best way to learn to use the program is by playing with it.
Have fun!
